WORN IS LOOKING FOR INTERNS FOR ISSUE 11

Our intern positions offer valuable opportunities for those interested in fashion and publishing. Because WORN is a small magazine, our interns work alongside our editors, writers, and graphic designers helping with real tasks (never fetching coffee or picking up dry cleaning) and getting a chance to show their stuff.

Why choose Worn? Worn is an independent print publication dedicated to offering a unique and inclusive perspective on fashion and style. Our readership is expanding dramatically throughout Canada and internationally. We are increasingly recognized by fashion lovers, vintage hounds, academics and artists as a truly unique and smart magazine for people who want more fashion and less fluff.

WE ANSWER TO READERS, NOT TO ADVERTISERS.

issue 11 application deadline is April 1st, 2010. applications and more information about available positions

Lust! I would love to apply for the editorial or website internships if I had more of a resume/experience. Alas, it seems to be just a flighty dream. Perhaps next round, I can step up to bat.

  2. anna Says:

Jaka you should go for it, you never know! This is the best way to get experience

  3. g. Says:

I agree with Anna - you’ve got nothing to lose by giving it a shot. When it comes to WORN, passion, dedication, and a general willingness to step up goes a LONG way. There a lots of people who have talent without a ton of experience. (I never had any magazine experience before WORN and I’ve been holding my own for four years!)
Even if you apply and don’t get in this time around, you’ll get your name on the WORN radar… That can’t hurt either.

I wish I lived in Toronto so bad! I’d love to do this!

    1. Why have I not heard of you guys before? Living under a rock is no excuse. This is an amazing mag!
    2. Expect submissions but quick.
    3. WHY DO I NOT LIVE IN TORONTO??? Next summer, perhaps
    4. I agree with anna and g.: Jaka, go for it. I don’t have any experience either, just a long list of those I want to work with. People will pay attention to enthusiasm, so jump on it! (proof: just landed a few articles, hurrah!)
    xxoo leilani

  8. Rose Says:

You know, I am seriously contemplating this for numerous reasons: I just moved to Toronto and have a undeniable love for both fashion and writing, I’m just being a bit of a skeptic that I’ll be able to handle both my school work and this internship. I’ll give it some thought.

Actually I’ll just bike over to Queen’s Park on Sunday and learn a bit more about it and possibly solidify my decision.

  9. Donna Vitan Says:

Sweet Jebus! I just missed out on this event and can’t believe I never heard of you guys! Now I gotta fill my brain with Worn Fashion Journal awesomeness.

Wonder, if I can intern while trying to keep my 9-5! /nudge

    Cheerios,

Reason #17489274806720574 why high school sucks
    I can’t intern at Worn.
Hope you find someone incredible though!

    O___O Are. You. Serious.
AGGGGGGGGG. Excuse me while I spaz for a while.

  12. serah-marie Says:

Katie, if you live in Toronto and have the time to do an internship during your summer holidays, send in an application anyways. We’ve made exceptions for that kind of time restrictions before - ask Valentina!

  13. Kiran Says:

I wish I lived in Toronto! If there’s anything online where I wouldn’t need to be there, I’d love to do it!

  14. Valentina Says:

I had pretty much no formal experience besiddes volunteering at a local newspaper when I applied for the summer internship. It’s really worth it to just give it a shot, even if you don’t live in Toronto you can do a summer internship like I did. Even after my internship ended I helped WORN out whenever I could. If I get into University in Toronto I’ll actually be interning with WORN again :)
