High Heel Heaven.
Monday, December 8th, 2008
Let’s just start by saying how pleased I am that Worn lives in a city were there is an entire museum dedicated to shoes. Along with offering a great afternoon of browsing ballet slippers, the Bata is hosting a launch for curator Elizabeth Semmelhack’s latest book, Heights of Fashion: A History of the Elevated Shoe (Periscope). Spanning five centuries of footwear, the book draws on historical sources, paintings, and prints, to explore how and why high heels came into common use.
Semmelhack will be signing copies and handing out eggnog:
The Bata Shoe Museum, 327 Bloor Street W. Toronto
