City of Craft

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

On December 12th and 13th the City of Craft flagship event will take place in Toronto. Nestled in the Theatre Centre (1087 Queen Street West) there will be free crafty workshops, the works of local craftspeople and colossal installations, like the man made tornado with a 19 foot circumference (made by the Caribou Collective). Scanning over the vendor list WORN is very excited to get up close and personal with the forest-y creations of Bettula, Lines: by Davis‘ eternity scarves, Mynta’s bud necklaces and the bows  practically made for our adoration by PinPals.

Words on Wheels

Monday, December 29th, 2008

I make resolutions for Worn every year. This year, a big one is to take the show on the road more. 2008 was our busiest season yet: City of Craft, Word on the Street, and Canzine in Toronto, Puces POP and Expozine in Montreal, Ladyfest in Ottawa, DIYnot? in Waterloo, and Kazine in Guelph. I’d like to start going to a few father away in 2009, I’ve heard good things about Renegade in New York and Chicago, Crafty Bastard in Washington and the Portland Zine Symposium especially makes me drool. We are not quite ready for overseas, but I’d love to attend Colophone next biennial.

Anyone else know of any shows Worn ought to check out, either zine or crafty, but especially independent magazine?
