Happy Xmas, WORN’s not over.
So it was quite a weekend for WORN. Since Thursday night it has been a mad flurry of activity. When our staff decided as a group to post about our financial woes, we never expected the support and kind words that overflowed around us. Staff, friends, family, and total strangers all came to our rescue in astonishing droves. The fashion blogging community was out in full force with blog and twitter shout-outs of support from Gala Darling, Hail Mary, Questionable Things, The Black Apple, Style Rookie, Fashion Pirates, Fake Karl, Norwegian Wood, Hipster Musings, Quirky and Co. among many others, and of course our very own and much beloved If the Sok Fitz. Independent press in Toronto is very supportive of its own and we are grateful. But most of all, our readers from as far away as Sweden and Japan and as close to home as down the street put their money where our hearts are. We can send out our subscriptions and orders and finally breathe easy. I’m taking down the donation button at the end of today, but you can always support WORN by ordering issues and subscriptions.
WORN is an independent publication made in my living room by a gaggle of dedicated and beautiful girls who volunteer for something they believe in. I’m glad to know that our readers believe in us too.
Thank You.
This weekend also marked our first trip back to Montreal since saying goodbye with our issue 6 launch party. We once again hooked up with the delightful Slow Dance Committee and threw a Winter Formal. Wornettes Carmen, Alexandra, and Chelsea and I all drove up to celebrate and got in some bonding time with Montreal editor Emily Raine and all our slow dancers. The rest of the weekend was spent stocking all our Montreal stores with our new issue 9, so don’t be shy to stop by your favourite WORN retailer and pick up your copy!
Much Love,
Serah-Marie

A Merry Christmas indeed! I am sooo glad you guys aren’t dismantling - I don’t think I could deal with that.

I’m seconding Serah-Marie’s gratitude. To all those who encouraged and supported WORN through the last few days, whether with words, thoughts, or bucks, I don’t have the words to thank you. Just knowing you were all out there pulling for us brought tears to my eyes more than once…
To misquote one of the great misquoted Oscar speeches of all times: You like us! You really like us!

I feel like, we’re Jimmy Stewart and this is the final scene of of It’s A Wonderful Life.
“Dear George, remember no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings, Love Clarence.”
I love Clarence!

Oh this is such good news! I’m sorry I was unable to donate before, but I’ll almost certainly be buying back issues/subscribing when I get the chance - issue 9 was wonderful! Hope WORN can keep going for many moons more.
