Be The Wornette Party Girl.

Can you plan a party like Lorelai Gilmore?

As you should be well aware, WORN Fashion Journal has thrown some truly great parties: karaoke, slow dances, gala fundraisers – we know how to shake our tail feathers. And now we’re looking for a vivacious event coordinator to manage our black book. This is a great opportunity for leadership experience in event planning and publicity within Toronto’s (and beyond) artistic community. This is a volunteer position for now, on average 5-6 hours a week, double in the time just before an event. 12 month commitment required.

What You’d Be Doing

-generate ideas for WORN parties and fundraisers, working with the team to execute the event from start to finish
-source out interesting venues and features
-design and lead promotional campaign (includes overseeing photoshoots, flyer and poster design)
-create and stick to a budget
-write press releases and promote the event to the press
-secure sponsorships from supportive like-minded companies
-attend a monthly staff meeting and bi-weekly event meetings at the WORN office
-attend Toronto fashion events on behalf of WORN

What You Need To Do It
-proven leadership abilities
-mad organizational skills
-nimble problem solving capabilities
-knowledge of Toronto’s nightlife
-desire to schmooze

All candidates should submit a resume and answers to following questions in an attached document to saraf@wornjournal.com:

1) Who attends WORN parties? What kind of person are they?

2) Describe the finest party you’ve been to. What made it special?

3) Pitch us three WORN event ideas.

4) What do you think is the most effective form of promotion?

5) Detail your weekly schedule. When do you work? Are you in school?

Nobody can plan a party like Lorelai Gilmore and you are just cruel for insinuating otherwise.

But to all those out there reading this - you should apply anyway! WORN events are insanely fun.

I think we should have a party-planning off.

    Like a dance off.
