WORN Mending Night This Thursday

Once again, Wornettes will be piling into Freedom Clothing Collective to frantically fix our glorious garments. If you aren’t scared off by our alliteration, come join us! We will help you find the best way to mend your stuff. For those of you who live your life in pristine elegance and have never torn a seam, we will have supplies on hand to make an easy craft. It may or may not be directly related to this video.

You can also join our mending night Facebook page here and RSVP to the September night here.

Heartbreak Karaoke is back!

Was it the son of a preacher man? A devil in a blue dress?

Or just that guitar picker your daddy told you not to marry

(You know they ain’t no good and your babies will probably grow up to be cowboys, too.)

You obviously don’t listen – but now everyone else will, dammit.

WORN FASHION JOURNAL proudly presents

the 4th Annual VALENTINE’S DAY HEARTBREAK KARAOKE

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2011

don’t just feel the pain, spread it around.

We’ve got a microphone, sad, sad songs,

and enough bitter tears and sweet liquor to fill a swimming pool.

What else could you possibly need to mourn your latest romantic folly?

The hurtin’ happens at THE SUPERMARKET, 268 Augusta Ave

Doors open at 9 PM

Heartbreak at 9:01

Total emotional catharsis and hail a cab at 2 AM

$7 at the door, $5 if you’re wearing RED

Consider this your chance to dish it out instead of take it. You can thank us later.

pre-Sol(e)d Out!

After months of planning, prepping, and primping, the day of our Sol(e)d! auction/issue release/Shake a Tail dance party is finally upon us! The party starts at 7pm at the Bata Shoe Museum (327 Bloor Street West). We can tell you guys are as excited as we are: all presale tickets have been sold out! There will be a few available at the door, but come early so you can nab your spot and have a chance to bid on of twenty three original pairs of Keds, including the Samantha Purdy ones pictured above.
For just 28$ you get access to Bata Museum galleries all evening, cheap drinks, free food, great music and tail shaking all night long!
We will be selling 15$ tickets after 10:30, only available at the door and only if there is room available.
Support our vision of independent publishing! A portion of the proceeds from this event benefit Fashion Cares, in support of the AIDS Committee of Toronto.

Hope to see you there!
