Lost, Found, and For Sale Again: Issues 1 and 5

Remember that magical moment when our managing editor found that box of lost issues we thought were gone forever? While we’ve sold out of most of those issues, there is still good news, dear WORN readers—we happen to have a very limited number of Issues 1 and 5 still available! The last time we put the lost issues for sale they sold like hotcakes, and we predict these will be gone like… hotcakes with syrup. Yummy, yummy syrup.

Here’s what’s inside:

Issue 1 – A history of Von Dutch (pre-trucker hat), Nancy Sintara’s swinging style, knitting for a living, everything you wanted to know about rayon, and so much more.

Issue 5 – A deliciously illustrated cover by Susan Belle, navigating fashion as a feminist, origami shirts, Elsa Schiaparelli, fashion in museums, and yes, much, much more.

Vintage POP

From the fine people who bring us POP Montreal every year comes another project close to our hearts. Vintage POP is a pop-up shop hosting some of the city’s best second-hand clothing curators under one roof. Featuring men’s and women’s clothing, the sale will have an array of amazing pieces spanning the ’20s to the ’90s, plus a selection of vintage housewares and accessories. These girls worked hard to find the most unique pieces, particularly duds that will keep us cozy as the temperatures start to drop.

Where To Go:
OFF Interarts (5145 St. Laurent, in Montreal), between Laurier and Fairmount. The nearest metro is Laurier.

When To Get There:
Wednesday, September 7th from 11-7
Thursday, September 8th from 11-9
Friday, September 9th from 11-9
Saturday, September 10th from 11-7

Montreal’s Smart Design Mart

I’m really excited that Montreal is taking the idea of the classic artisan fair and giving it a modern spin. Each designer has been hand picked by the Smart Design Mart curators, and has been asked to create a mini boutique within the space. Housed in a 15,000-square-foot former garment industry loft, the show will have roomy aisles (yay!), food, drink, music, and live art in addition to shopping.
