Book Review: Salvatore Ferragamo: Evolving Legend 1928-2008

Whether you have 20 pairs of Ferragamos or think it’s a term for an exotic disease, you won’t be bored by this wonderfully composed collection of photographs, articles, and incorporated quotes that celebrate the history of this fashion house. The text is articulate and balanced by an archive of photos of the legend, his many famous clients, and the family that carried on the Ferragamo legacy after his death in 1960. The result is engaging, particularly for a graphic novel fan such as myself, as the layout strikes a strong resemblance to a comic strip. Overall, Evolving Legend succeeds as both a comprehensive biography and a gratifying celebration of the talent and wonder of Ferragamo.
